Project TREMoLo got accepted for funding by the French national research agency (ANR).
TREMoLo studies the use of language registers and seeks to develop automatic methods towards the transformation of texts from a register to another. To do so, the project proposes to extract linguistic patterns which discriminate a register from another, and to integrate them into a probabilistic automatic paraphrase generation process. The language under study is French. The approach strongly and originally couples methods from sequential data mining and statistical language modeling. The conducted research is exploratory as it aims the production of fundamental knowledge in linguistics, and longer-term extensions to other types of stylistic variations. Application domains of this work are human-machine interaction, and assistance to language mastery.
Project will officially start on 1st October 2017 and last until 2021.
